This document provides guidelines to grantees and other collaborators of the Joe and Clara Tsai Foundation’s Social Justice Fund (“SJF”) regarding SJF’s policies and procedures with respect to various communications matters. Grantees are not required to acknowledge the SJF in printed materials or to publicize SJF grants with a press release, but if your organization would like to do so, we have provided the following guidelines and information to help ensure accuracy and consistency.
Contact Information
Erin Trowbridge coordinates all communications and media matters for SJF and for Clara Wu Tsai, Founder of the Joe and Clara Tsai Foundation (“Clara”). The best way to contact Erin is by email at: erint@cwjt.org
Requests for Clara Wu Tsai’s Participation
All requests for Clara to attend events or participate in media activities should be directed to Erin at least 20 business days in advance.
All requests for Clara to provide public statements should be submitted to Erin for review and approval at least 10 business days prior to release.
Press Releases and Grant Announcements
Information about grants must remain confidential and should not be announced publicly until the grant agreement or letter is signed, and all required approvals have been obtained.
All proposed press releases and grant announcements should be sent to Erin 20 business days prior to release. Please also include any additional media materials (e.g., talking points, Q&A, fact sheet, backgrounders, etc.) and the announcement plan (including the media, digital, social, and content approach) if there is one. Erin will review your materials and respond with suggested edits and/or approval.
SJF’s name should not be used in the headline of a press release or grant announcement, unless it is a joint release with SJF. However, our name may be used in a sub-headline.
Use of Clara Tsai’s Name or SJF’s Name, Logo, Photographs, or Videos
All proposed public references to Clara and all proposed public use of SJF’s name, logo, photographs, or videos should be submitted to Erin at least 10 business days in advance for approval. This includes, but is not limited to, press releases, brochures, websites, newsletters, and annual reports.
